I studied medicine at Southampton University before training in Cardiology in London. I worked at the Heart Hospital and St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the largest specialist cardiac centres of their kind in Europe, developing sub-specialty interests in heart failure, inherited cardiac disease and complex devices.
I undertook a year-long fellowship in advanced heart failure, mechanical support and cardiac transplantation at the Royal Perth Hospital, Australia, before working as a Consultant Cardiologist in the department of inherited cardiac disease at the Barts Heart Centre, London.
I look after patients with all aspects of general cardiology problems, and in addition have built a reputation for providing a specialist opinion on patients with heart failure, including more unusual cardiac conditions. In particular, I am an expert in the management of patients with Inherited heart conditions (often called cardiomyopathies), which are increasingly recognised as important underlying causes of cardiac symptoms.
I provide outpatient consultations with access to a wide range of non-invasive cardiac testing. I also provide catheter lab services such as coronary angiography, and am an expert in the implantation and follow up of both simple and complex pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation devices.
In 2015 I moved my young family to Bournemouth and Poole to take advantage of all the area has to offer. I am a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and the lead clinician for heart failure, bringing the experience of London tertiary cardiac practice to Dorset.
